Northwestern to compete at NCAA Championships

ST. PAUL, Minn.-- The University of Northwestern-St. Paul's women's golf team will compete at the NCAA Championships at Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, California. The first round begins Tuesday, May 19.

The 2026 championship will consist of both team and individual competition play over 72 holes. After 36 holes, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and the top six individuals not on advancing teams. In the team competition, the lowest four scores for each school will count in the day's total score.

Twenty-six conferences have been awarded automatic qualification, and the remaining eight teams were selected on an at-large basis from conferences and independent institutions. Six individuals, not from selected teams, were also selected for the championships.

The Eagles earned the automatic bid to the NCAA Championships as they won the UMAC Championship on Oct. 4, 2025. This marked the third-straight title and fifth overall UMAC Championship for the program.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges will serve as host.
