MINNEAPOLIS – The opening round of the 2025 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Men’s Tennis Tournament took place on Friday as four teams competed in a pair of semifinal contests. The Greenville University Panthers and Principia College Panthers won their semifinal matches to advance to the tournament championship match.

SEMIFINAL: No. 2 Principia def. No. 1 UW-Superior, 4-1 | Box Score |
- Principia won two of the three doubles matches to secure the doubles point.
- In singles, the Panthers dropped one match but won three others to secure the team win.
- Jesus Soto Bossa rallied to win No. 2 singles 1-6, 6-0, 7-5.
- Ernesto Botero also rallied for a three-set win, taking No. 3 singles 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
- Ignacio Zamora won No. 4 singles in straight sets with a 6-4, 6-3 victory.

- Greenville took No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to go up 1-0.
- In singles, the Panthers won three matches to clinch their ticket to the championship.
- Colton Hulme won No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-3.
- Jean Sanabria earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles.
- Clark Kent took No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-3.

The UMAC is an NCAA Division III member comprised of eight full-time member schools from Minnesota and Wisconsin: Bethany Lutheran College, Crown College, Martin Luther College, North Central University, Northland College, University of Minnesota Morris, University of Northwestern, and University of Wisconsin-Superior.
