2025 UMAC Women’s Tennis Awards

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced the recipients of their 2025 women’s tennis awards on Tuesday. The awards are nominated and voted on by the UMAC women’s tennis head coaches within each division.

Abby Johnson of the University of Northeastern Eagles was named the UMAC North Division Player of the Year. The junior won 12 singles matches with nine No. 1 victories. She also won nine doubles matches, all at No. 1.
 
Addison Brannon of the Greenville University Panthers was named the UMAC South Division Player of the Year. The senior won eight singles matches between No. 1 and No. 2. In doubles, she won seven matches.
 
Paige Johnson of the Northwestern Eagles was named the UMAC North Division Rookie of the Year. The first-year tennis player won nine matches at No. 2 singles. She also won 11 doubles matches with four wins at No. 1 and seven at No. 2.
 
Lucy Paro of the Webster University Gorloks was named the UMAC South Division Rookie of the Year. The freshman helped lead the Gorloks to a nine-win season and a UMAC Tournament appearance.
 
CeeJay Schaffner was named the UMAC North Division Coach of the Year. The University of Wisconsin-Superior head coach led the Yellowjackets to a 21-5 season, going 5-0 in the conference to win the North Division Championship.
 
Brett Brannon was named the UMAC South Division Coach of the Year. The Greenville head coach led the Panthers to a 14-7 record, winning the South Division Championship.
 
The Crown College Polars and the Westminster College Blue Jays won the team sportsmanship awards for the North and South Divisions respectively. The accolade is selected by the UMAC coaches and awarded to the team that best represents sportsmanship throughout the entire season.
