UW-Superior Wins 2025 UMAC Women’s Tennis Tournament Championship

MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets (21-5) won the 2025 UMAC Women’s Tennis Tournament Championship on Saturday with a 4-1 victory over the Greenville University Panthers (14-7). The UMAC postseason title is the first in program history for the Yellowjackets.

UW-Superior fell behind 1-0 early after Greenville won the doubles point. However, the Yellowjackets thrived in the singles matches. Giulia Barros won the No. 3 match 6-2, 6-4; Kate Jonas took the No. 4 match 6-1, 6-3; and Brooke Wilfong earned a 6-4, 7-5 victory in the No. 6 match.
 
Up 3-1, the championship was decided by No. 1 singles. Anouk Bluemm clinched tournament title for UW-Superior with a 6-4, 6-3 victory in the top singles match to secure the 4-1 victory for the Yellowjackets.

With the UMAC Tournament victory, UW-Superior has earned the UMAC’s automatic bid and will advance to compete in the NCAA DIII Women’s Tennis Tournament.
 


The UMAC is an NCAA Division III member comprised of eight full-time member schools from Minnesota and Wisconsin: Bethany Lutheran College, Crown College, Martin Luther College, North Central University, Northland College, University of Minnesota Morris, University of Northwestern, and University of Wisconsin-Superior.
