UW-Superior, Greenville Advance to UMAC Women’s Tennis Tournament Championship Match

MINNEAPOLIS – The opening round of the 2025 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Women’s Tennis Tournament took place on Friday as four teams competed in a pair of semifinal contests. The University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets and Greenville University Panthers won their semifinal matches to advance to the tournament championship match.

SEMIFINAL: No. 1 UW-Superior def. No. 2 Webster, 4-0 | Box Score |
  • The Yellowjackets clinched the doubles point with victories in the No. 2 and No. 3 matches.
  • In singles, UW-Superior earned three more match wins to secure the team victory.
    • Anouk Bluemm won the No. 1 match 6-3, 6-3 for the Yellowjackets.
    • Elif Oezen took the No. 2 match 6-0, 6-3.
    • Kate Jonas earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the No. 4 match.

  • The Panthers swept the doubles matched to secure the early 1-0 lead.
  • In singles, Greenville won another three matches to advance to the next round.
    • Addison Brannon won No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-3.
    • Lanie Carder earned a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles.
    • Emily Kowalke took the No. 4 match 6-4, 6-1.

The UMAC is an NCAA Division III member comprised of eight full-time member schools from Minnesota and Wisconsin: Bethany Lutheran College, Crown College, Martin Luther College, North Central University, Northland College, University of Minnesota Morris, University of Northwestern, and University of Wisconsin-Superior.
