UW-Superior Wins UMAC Men’s Indoor Championship for Ninth Year in a Row

SUPERIOR, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets won the 2024-25 UMAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championship this past weekend. The title is the ninth in program history for the Yellowjackets, who have won the indoor championship every year since 2017.
 
UW-Superior won the UMAC title with 242 points in the championship meet. The Martin Luther College Knights followed in second place with 184 points. The Crown College Polars placed third with 91 points.
 
Jesse Ortiz broke the UMAC Indoor Championship record in the 200 Meters. The UW-Superior freshman ran the event in 22.43 seconds, breaking the previous conference record of 22.52 set by the Bethany Lutheran College Vikings’ Aaron Stewart at last year’s championship.
 
The Yellowjackets won seven of the 17 events, taking home the gold in the 200 Meters, 3000 Meters, 5000 Meters, DMR, Pole Vault, Long Jump, and Weight Throw. Martin Luther followed with five event championships, winning the 400 Meters, 60 Hurdles, 4x200, 4x400, and Triple Jump.
