UMAC Athletes of the Week: April 6-12, 2026

ST. PAUL, Minn.-- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced their Athlete of the Week award winners Tuesday in the sports of baseball, men’s and women’s golf, softball, men’s and women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s track and field. The awards are nominated by UMAC coaches and athletics communications staff and selected each week by the latter group.
 
Baseball Player of the Week
Tanner Voight, Sr, UW-Superior, INF
Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater
 
Voight led the Yellowjacket offense this past week in UMAC play. He went 8-23 on the week with four home runs, two walks, seven runs scored and 13 RBIs in a series win over Martin Luther and one victory over Bethany Lutheran. Voight leads the conference in home runs (nine), RBIs (31), and slugging percentage (.716).
 
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Dreyer Homan, Sr, Northwestern
Clara City, Minn./MACCRAY
 
Homan was lights-out in two starts this week, striking out 17 and giving up just two earned runs in 16 innings of work. He began the week by throwing 8.0 innings of shutout ball against Crown, and ended it with an eight-inning complete game against Minnesota Morris in which he struck out 17 while giving up just 6 hits and 3 earned runs.
 
Men’s Golf Co-Athlete of the Week
John Martin, Jr, Martin Luther
Newburg, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran
 
Won the Icy Blue Flight at the UMAC Spring Event. This second-annual event took place Friday and Saturday at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Willmar, Minn.
 
Men’s Golf Co-Athlete of the Week
Ben Pearson, So, Martin Luther
New Ulm, Minn./Minnesota Valley Lutheran
 
Won the Icy Blue Flight at the UMAC Spring Event. This second-annual event took place Friday and Saturday at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Willmar, Minn.
 
Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week
Abby Schintz, So, UW-Superior
Duluth, Minn./Duluth East
 
Schintz spearheaded the Yellowjackets this past weekend at the Gustie Spring Classic. In round one she carded an eight-over 80 with three birdies and six pars before shaving two strokes on Sunday, where she logged 12 pars, eight of which were consecutive, to finish seventh overall on a leaderboard filled with some of the region's best golfers.
 
Softball Player of the Week
Maria Lilienthal, Sr, Crown, INF
Pendleton, Ore./ Pendleton
 
In seven games last week Lilienthal had 11 hits in 20 at bats (.550) with 8 runs scored and 5 extra base hits. Her home run and 5 doubles resulted in another 10 RBI's this week. Her 41 RBIs on the season lead the conference, and places her in the top-five in all of Division III.
 
Softball Pitcher of the Week
Emily Meyer, Jr, Bethany Lutheran
Swea City, Iowa/North Union
 
Meyer helped Bethany go 4-1 last week, including a UMAC sweep over UW-Superior and a doubleheader split at No. 21 Central College. Meyer tossed 14 innings in the sweep over Superior, earning two wins and a save. In game one, she struck out 10 batters. Meyer also earned the win in game one at Central, allowing just one hit in a shutout performance. Meyer pitched 25.1 innings in five games with a 2.21 ERA and 22 strikeouts.
 
Men’s Tennis North Division Athlete of the Week
Igor Guetten Chaves, Sr, UW-Superior
Foz do Iguacu, Brazil/Colegio Adventista
 
Guetten Chaves came away with a 6-0 victory at the No. 1 doubles position alongside Sharan Kanugovi before grabbing a 6-0, 6-2 win at the top singles position versus Martin Luther.
 
Men’s Tennis South Division Athlete of the Week
Jean Sanabria, Greenville
Tunja, Colombia/Los Angeles Tunja
 
Sanabria went 3-1 in doubles and 3-1 in singles as the Panthers also went 3-1 as a team this week. Sanabria gathered singles and doubles wins against Indiana Southeast, and Franklin, and conference opponent, Principia.
 
Women’s Tennis North Division Athlete of the Week
Sarah Langridge, Fr, Northwestern
Savage, Minn./Prior Lake
 
Langridge was UNW's top player on the week, going 3-3 against a tough schedule. Impressively, the freshman went 3-0 at No. 2 singles, including three-set wins over her opponents from Saint Benedict and UW-River Falls, and a 7-5, 6-2 win against Hamline.
 
Women’s Tennis South Division Athlete of the Week
Mafe Quintero, Principia
 
Quintero went 4-0 in her matches this week to help lead Principia to two conference wins over Westminster and Webster. She won 6-0, 6-0 and 6-3, 6-0 at #1 singles, and has now won 12 singles matches in a row. She also won 6-1 and 6-0 in her doubles matches.
 
Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week
Nate Tomlinson, So, Crown
Blanco, Texas/Blanco
 
Tomlinson set the UMAC best of the season and set the school record in the 200m with a time of 22.76.
 
Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Greg Ohman, Sr, Minnesota Morris
Lake Nebagamon, Wis./Northwestern
 
Ohman competed on Sunday at the Maverick Open in the discus. He threw a PR of 42.84 meters which would be almost a meter farther of second place in the UMAC. It also moved him to 4th all-time in the discus throw in Minnesota Morris history. He also added an eighth-place finish in the hammer throw.
 
Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week
Emery Maki, Sr, Northwestern
Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing
 
Maki delivered an impressive performance in the 800 meters. She finished with her season- best time with 2:17.80, which also broke the top 100 time in NCAA DIII at #97. She finished fifth overall behind three DI runners and one DII runner. Her time leads the conference.
 
Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Jordan Ohman, Sr, Minnesota Morris
Cable, Wis./Drummond
 
Ohman competed twice this week. On April 8th, she competed in shot put discus and hammer throw. She threw the hammer 38.62m for the second-farthest throw in the UMAC to this point in the season. Her discus mark of 37.84mwhich is the farthest throw in the UMAC to this point and then also threw the shot put 10.44 meters which would be third in the UMAC currently. On April 12th, she  threw the discus 36.39m, which Is the second-farthest throw this season only behind her April 8th performance. She threw the hammer 37.63m which is the fifth-farthest throw of the season in the UMAC. She threw the javelin 39.05m which is the best throw in the UMAC by 3 meters, the 34th-best throw in Division III and also moved her into third all-time in Minnesota Morris history.
