ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athlete Conference (UMAC) champions in softball, baseball, women’s golf, and men’s golf competed in the NCAA Division III Championships over the past week. Here’s a roundup of the NCAA postseason results for those sports this spring for the UMAC.
Softball
- The Bethany Lutheran College Vikings competed in the regional round of the NCAA DIII Softball Championship last weekend. On the opening day of the regional, the Vikings fell 6-3 to regional hosts No. 22 Illinois Wesleyan. Day two saw BLC win two games to advance to the regional championship, defeating Greenville 4-1 and Nebraska Wesleyan 1-0. On day three in the championship game, Bethany Lutheran fell 5-3 to No. 22 Illinois Wesleyan to close out their tournament run.
Baseball
- The Bethany Lutheran Vikings competed in the regional round of the NCAA DIII Baseball Championship last weekend. The Vikings fell 4-2 in the opening game of the regional to hosts UW-La Crosse. BLC then faced Buena Vista on day two, falling 11-9.
Women’s Golf
- The University of Northwestern Eagles competed in the NCAA DIII Women’s Golf Championship last week. The Eagles placed 30th out of the 35 teams in the championship. Morgan Eckman led UNW with a +4 on day one and a +5 on day two of the championship.
Men’s Golf
- The North Central University Rams competed in the NCAA DIII Men’s Golf Championship earlier this week. The Rams placed 43rd in the championship. Jacob Brown led NCU with rounds of 82 and 89.
The UMAC is an NCAA Division III member comprised of eight full-time member schools from Minnesota and Wisconsin: Bethany Lutheran College, Crown College, Martin Luther College, North Central University, Northland College, University of Minnesota Morris, University of Northwestern, and University of Wisconsin-Superior.
