2025 UMAC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Awards

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced the recipients of their 2025 women’s indoor track & field awards on Thursday. The awards are nominated and voted on by the UMAC track & field head coaches. Only results from the UMAC Indoor Championship meet count for consideration in the awards. 
 
Stephanie Witbrod of the Bethany Lutheran College Vikings earned the Top Scoring Athlete of the Meet award and was named the Field Athlete of the Meet. The senior led the conference with 37.5 points at the UMAC Championship, winning the weight throw (15.11m) and shot put (13.52m) events. She also placed third in triple jump (10.01m), long jump (4.72m), and 4x200 relay (1:55.76) and had a fifth-place finish in the 60m hurdles (10.25).
 
Ella Dufault of the Crown College Polars was named the Track Athlete of the Meet. The sophomore led the UMAC with 36.5 points in track events, winning 5000 meters (18:44.81), 3000 meters (10:43.36), and the distance medley relay (13:25.20). She also placed second in the mile (5:19.07) and third in the 800 meters (2:25.66).
 
Mia Arroyo of the Crown Polars was named the Rookie of the Year. The freshman earned 17.5 points for the Polars at the UMAC Championship, winning the distance medley relay (13:25.20) and placing fourth in the 3000 meters (11:10.46), mile (5:27.32), and 800m (2:29.11).
 
The Crown Polars coaches earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors. The Polars, led by head coach Grant DeWitt in his second season, won the UMAC Indoor Championship for the first time in program history with a 138-point performance.
 
The Crown Polars won the team sportsmanship award, an accolade that is selected by the UMAC coaches and awarded to the team that best represents sportsmanship throughout the entire season. Each team also had one representative earn all-sportsmanship honors.
 
All-Conference recognition is given to individuals who finished in first or second place in an individual event and to members of relay teams who finished in first place in a relay event at the UMAC Indoor Championship.
