2025 UMAC Women’s Cross Country Championship Preview

WINTHROP, Minn. - This Saturday, November 1, the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Women's Cross Country Championship will take place at 1 p.m. at the Winthrop Golf Club where all seven conference teams will compete in a 6K for the conference title.

Championship History
  • Last season, UW-Superior won its second UMAC Championship in program history. The Yellowjackets scored 47 points, holding a nine-point lead over second place.
  • The 'Jackets had three finishers in the top five.
  • Ella Dufault of Crown was the Individual Champion as she crossed the line in 22:48.5. She returns this weekend as the defending individual champion.
  • Crown was the runner-up at the 2024 UMAC Championship with a team score of 56.
  • Martin Luther was the most recent UMAC team who last won a the UMAC Championships in 2021 and 2022.
This Season
  • Ella Dufault of Crown has the top 6K time this season in the UMAC with her 23:54.2 at the St. Olaf Invitational on Sept. 20.
  • She has won four UMAC Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week awards this season.
  • Five of the seven UMAC teams competed at the St. Olaf Invitational on September 20. At that meet, Crown had the top UMAC finish with an average time of 25:19. UW-Superior had the second-best UMAC average of 27:04, Martin Luther had the third-best average of 26:37, Minnesota Morris was fourth-best with 30:23 and Bethany Lutheran was fifth-best with 30:58.
