Wisconsin-Superior Takes Big Lead on Day One of UMAC Men’s Indoor Championship

SUPERIOR, Wis. – After day one of the UMAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Champion, the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets lead the conference with 138.5 points. Eight event championships were decided on Friday with nine more to be decided on Saturday.

Wisconsin-Superior won seven of the eight event championships on Friday. Michael Butterfield won two events for the Yellowjackets, taking the Mile (4:31.17) and 5000 Meter (15:47.43). Ethan Westimayer took the 400 Meter (52.03) for UWS.
 
Both relays that were ran Friday went to the Yellowjackets, taking the 4x200 (1:33.89) and Distance Medley Relay (11:08.37).
 
Wisconsin-Superior also won two of the three opening day field championships, taking the Long Jump (Ben Babcock, 6.61m) and Weight Throw (Nate Ohman, 15.02m).
 
Martin Luther College won the High Jump on Friday as Samuel Plocher leapt 1.94m for the gold.
