Northwestern Increases Lead on Day Two of UMAC Women’s Golf Championship

BECKER, Minn. – The University of Northwestern Eagles remain in first place after the second day of the 2024 UMAC Women’s Golf Championship at Pebble Creek Golf Club. UNW shot 348 (+60) on Friday to bring their championship total to 697 (+121), increasing their lead to 32 strokes.
 
The Eagles were led by Morgan Eckman on day two, who overtook teammate Paige Johnson as the current individual frontrunner. Eckman now leads the field with a total score of 162 (+18) overall after shooting 82 (+10) on Friday. Johnson follows as the runner up with a 165 (+21) total after shooting 86 (+14) in round two.
 
The Crown College Polars remain in second after day two with a team score of 729 (+153). Kendal Clark led the Polars again with a second round of 87 (+15) to bring her total to 174 (+30) to stand tied for third overall. Shelby Cash follows in fifth with at 178 (+34).
 
The University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets remain in third after the second day of the championship at 755 (+179). Olivia Weyenberg leads the Yellowjackets after two rounds, tying the Polar’s Clark for third overall at 174 (+30).
 
The third and final day of the UMAC Championship tees off at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5.
