BECKER, Minn. – The University of Northwestern Eagles stand atop the leaderboard after the opening day of the 2024 UMAC Women’s Golf Championship at Pebble Creek Golf Club. UNW shot 349 (+61) as a team to take an 18-stroke lead.
 
The Eagles were led by Paige Johnson and Morgan Eckman, who currently stand as the individual frontrunner and runner up. Johnson leads the field with a 79 (+7) after the opening day. Eckman follows just one stroke back at 80 (+8). All five of Northwestern’s golfers finished the first day in the top-12.
 
The Crown College Polars stand in second after the first day with a team score of 367 (+79). Kendal Clark leads the Polars with an opening round of 87 (+15), currently tying her for fourth overall. Shelby Cash follows just two strokes back at 89 (+17). Lexi Thomas had a top-10 round as well, tying for eighth overall at 93 (+21).
 
The University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets stand in third after the first day of the championship, shooting 373 (+85). Olivia Weyenberg leads the Yellowjackets with an 83 (+11), placing her third overall. Ashton Parnell follows, currently tied for 10^th overall with an opening round of 94 (+22).
 
Day two of the UMAC Championship tees off at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 4.
