ST. PAUL, Minn.---Each week on Thursdays, the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) will highlight one student-athlete who serves as an integral member of their institutional Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) in the "UMAC SAAC Spotlight." At the institutional, conference and national levels, SAAC represents the Division III student-athlete voice and provides opportunities for student-athletes to be actively engaged in their campus communities. | About DIII SAAC | About UMAC SAAC

All About SAAC
How did you get involved in your campus SAAC?
I got involved in SAAC because I wanted to join a committee/club and one of the captains of the volleyball team (who is also in SAAC) told me I’d be a perfect fit!

What do you enjoy most about being a member of SAAC?
I love being a member of SAAC because I enjoy sharing my teams' thoughts and opinions to make the athletic department and programs better for all student-athletes. It’s fun to hear what all the other sports teams think as well, and I love collaborating with everyone to come up with cool ideas and opportunities for improvements.

What has been one of your favorite SAAC initiatives or activities?
My favorite initiative was our Week of Giving that we hold every single year. It was so rewarding to give back to the community. Also, my favorite activity was the volleyball tournament we put together for the athletes. We all were required to inter-mix sports, and it was so fun playing with all the other athletic teams.
