2010 UMAC Softball Pitcher of the Week Award

March 2
Kelsey Timm - FR | P | Northwestern College
Kelsey Timm helped Northwestern achieve its first victory of 2010 by pitching a complete game shutout versus UW-Stout.  In her college debut, she held her opponent to five hits and one walk.  Timm struck out two batters and held the Blue Devils to a .263 batting average.

March 9
Tasha Johnson - JR | P | University of Minnesota, Morris
In one start and two appearances, Tasha Johnson helped Minnesota-Morris achieve its first victory of the season over Macalester. In this week's nine and one-third innings pitched, Johnson recorded two strikouts and held her opponents to a .354 batting average.

Brittany Schmitt - SR | P | Northland College
Over the weekend, Northland's Brittany Schmitt displayed a solid performance at the Augie Tournament.  In Schmitt's tournament debut, she threw a three hit, 2-0 shutout over Wittenburg College.  Following the shutout, Brittany gave up one unearned run and four hits against tournament host and No. 10 Augustana College. Schmitt walked off the mound after day one of the tournament with a 0.92 ERA, 10 strikeouts and a walk.

April 6
Emily Rauchman - FR | P | Bethany Lutheran College
In two starts, Bethany Lutheran's Emily Rauchman led the Vikings to a 2-0 record.  The freshman pitcher served nine strikeouts to Carleton over 14 innings, giving up just two hits as she paced her way to two complete games. Rauchman did not allow an earned run in either contest.

April 13
Kelsey Timm - FR | P | Northwestern College
In two appearances, Northwestern's Kelsey Timm delivered eight innings of well-pitched softball. Timm allowed ten hits and no earned runs against Northland and Crown while striking out eight batters and holding her opponents to a .286 batting average.

Jen Falk - JR | P | College of Saint Scholastica
Jen Falk took the mound three times throughout last week and made sure never to come out of the pitcher's circle in her appearances.  In her three starts, Falk recorded three wins, three complete games, and one shutout.  In 19 innings pitched, Falk gave up three runs, two of which were earned, and ten walks.  She also recorded 20 strikeouts and held opponents to a .257 batting average.
