Bethany Lutheran wins 2026 UMAC Baseball Tournament Championship

MANKATO, Minn.—Bethany Lutheran (31-6 overall) defeated UW-Superior (27-14) 10-4 to win the 2026 UMAC Baseball Tournament Championship Saturday afternoon. The tournament title is the fifth in program history and second in a row for BLC.

The game was tied 3-3 after four innings. The Vikings plated six in the sixth inning, which included three RBI singles, a two-run single from Jayden Knutson and a bases loaded balk, to pull ahead 9-4.

Bethany Lutheran tallied its final run of the day in the seventh on an RBI single from Seth Jones to right centerfield.

In the top of the ninth, the YellowJackets plated one as Carter Thielke scored on Tanner Voight’s fielder’s choice.

BLC had 10 hits to go with its 10 runs as Pena Torres and Gary Wann each went 2-4.

For his efforts over the three games, Yunior Pena Torres was named Tournament MVP.

Bethany Lutheran will learn its game site and opponent during the NCAA Selection Show Monday at 11 a.m.
