Bethany Lutheran wins 2025-26 UMAC Men’s Basketball Tournament

MORRIS, Minn. – Bethany Lutheran College won the 2025-26 UMAC Men’s Basketball Tournament Championship on Saturday afternoon with a 76-75 victory over Minnesota Morris. The tournament title is the sixth in the Vikings’ program history and their fourth in a row.

Brady Ingersoll made the game-winning basket as time expired to earn Tournament MVP honors.

The Cougars led 41-32 at halftime and it was a back and forth game down the stretch. Hudsen Jenniges makes it a one-point game (75-74) with :07 to go. BLC then fouls to put UMM at the line with 0:6 left. After a missed free throw, Bethany Lutheran brought it up the court and Ingersoll makes a jumper as time expires to seal the win and punch its ticket to the NCAA Tournament.

Four Vikings finished in double digits as Brockman had 20, Jenniges had 17, Ingersoll had 15, and Max Briggs had 11.

Brockmann and Jenniges both had double doubles with 11 and 12 rebounds, respectively.

Four players for Minnesota Morris also finished in double figures: Matt Thompson had 17, Carvin Fish had 16, Kaden Pieper had 14 and Leroy Staples-Fairbanks had 12.

The Vikings will await their game site and opponent during the NCAA Selection Show Monday at noon.
