ST. PAUL, Minn.-- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced their Athlete of the Week award winners Tuesday in the sports of men’s and women’s basketball. The awards are nominated by UMAC coaches and athletics communications staff and selected each week by the latter group.
Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week
Carvin Fish, So, Minnesota Morris, F
Sisseton, S.D./ Tiospa Zina Tribal School
Fish played a major role in the Cougars' 88-81 comeback win against Martin Luther. The sophomore forward scored 20 points in the second half to finish the game with a career-high 32 points. Fish shot 11-13 from the field, a perfect 2-2 from behind the arc and 8-9 at the free throw line. He also tallied seven rebounds, three steals, and one block.
Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week
Lydia Feidt, Sr, Martin Luther, F
Kaukana, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran
Feidt had the best game of her career at MLC as the senior almost had a triple-double performance in the Knights’ 59-40 victory against St. Olaf on Tuesday. Feidt finished with 24 points on 58 percent shooting, 13 rebounds, and 7 steals.
