UW-Superior wins 2025 UMAC Men’s Soccer Tournament Championship in overtime

SUPERIOR, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Superior (16-6 overall) won the 2025 UMAC Men’s Soccer Tournament Championship on Saturday afternoon with a 2-1 overtime victory over Bethany Lutheran College (12-7-2). The tournament title is both the Yellowjackets ninth in program history and their ninth in a row.

The game was scoreless through halftime. Juan Campos scored on a pass from Rosalem Tendaie at 70:04 to give the Vikings the lead.

UW-Superior would answer just over four minutes later as Seth Davidson netted his attempt on passes from Harvey McLoughlin and Joel Thomas at 74:37.

Since neither team was able to score throughout the remainder of regulation, the contest went into overtime.

Just two minutes into the extra session, Jake Kidd scored the game-winner on a feed from Freddy Watson at 91:15 for the title and the trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Kidd was named the UMAC Tournament MVP for the second-straight year.

This was the first men's title game that went to overtime since Nov. 6, 2021 when these two teams also needed one overtime session.

With the UMAC Tournament victory, UW-Superior has earned the UMAC’s automatic bid and will advance to compete in the NCAA DIII Tournament starting next weekend. The Yellowjackets will learn their opponent and destination during the NCAA Selection Show Monday morning.
