ST. PAUL, Minn.-- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced their Athlete of the Week award winners Tuesday in the sports of men’s and women’s cross country, football, men’s and women’s soccer, and volleyball. The awards are nominated by UMAC coaches and athletics communications staff and selected each week by the latter group.
Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
David Tuttle, Fr, Crown
Cloquet, Minn./Homeschool
Tuttle finished 20th at the Kent Finanger Invite with a time of 13:34.5 in the 4K race.
Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Ella Dufault, Jr, Crown
Waseca, Minn./Waseca
Dufault took 1st at the Kent Finanger Invite with a time of 14:53.7 in the 4K race, besting runners from multiple MIAC teams.
Football Offensive Athlete of the Week
Terrel Graves, So, Greenville, RB
Roxana, Ill./Roxana
Graves helped lead the Panthers to victory with 31 carries for 217 yards and 2 TDs.
Football Defensive Athlete of the Week
Chayce Meyer, Sr, Minnesota Morris
Osakis, Minn./Osakis
Meyer totaled five solo tackles in the Cougars win at Westminster. Meyer recorded three sacks in the win, combining for 22 yards lost.
Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week
Logan Ahlers, Sr, Minnesota Morris
Medina, Minn./Providence Academy
Ahlers lined up to kick the game-winning field goal for the Cougars Saturday. On his first kick of the season, Ahlers gets the ball through the uprights as time expired for Minnesota Morris to win 30-27. Along with the game winning field goal, he recorded five tackles with one being a sack.
Men’s Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week
Aaron Mackall, Sr, Minnesota Morris F
Nerstrand, Minn./Woodbury
Mackall has continued to put on a dominant 2025 season scoring in both games for the Cougars this week. The senior forward netted the first goal at Crown resulting in a 2-1 road victory. Then on Senior Day, Mackall scored his second hat trick of the season in a 4-2 win against Martin Luther. He currently has 16 goals, leading the UMAC and ranks second in Division III.
Men’s Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week
Miguel Goncalves, Fy, Bethany Lutheran, D
Ourem, Portugal/Universal School
Goncalves helped Bethany go 2-0 during the week with wins over Martin Luther (7-1) and Crown (3-0). Goncalves tallied one goal and two assists between the two games. Goncalves and the defense also limited Martin Luther to two shots on goal and Crown just one shot on goal.
Women’s Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week
Elena Luján Rubio, Sr, Bethany Lutheran, M
Alborache, Spain/IES La Hoya de Buñol
Elena Luján Rubio helped Bethany go 2-0 during the week with convincing wins over Martin Luther (8-1) and Crown (9-1). Against Martin Luther, Luján Rubio set a career-high with four goals, tying the single game program record. She also assisted on two other goals for a 10-point game. Against Crown, Luján Rubio scored two goals and assisted on two others for a six-point game, finishing the week with six goals and four assists for 16 points. Luján Rubio moved into second place in program history, now with 123 career points.
Women’s Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week
Quinn Clark, Sr, UW-Superior, GK
Duluth, Minn./Duluth East
Clark picked up a pair of clean sheets in last week's contest. She made nine saves in a 2-0 win over St. Scholastica Wednesday while making seven more in a scoreless draw with Northwestern Saturday. Clark's record stands at 6-3-3 on the season.
Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week
Mary Cate Ziembiec, Sr, Minnesota Morris, OH
Victoria, Minn./Chanhassen
After the Cougars were trailing 2-0 against St. Scholastica, Ziembiec helped rallied the team offensively, recording a career-high 21 kills. The senior Outside Hitter closed out set four with a service ace to force a set five. In the final set she tallied five kills to lead UMM to a 15-8 set win. Ziembiec also recorded 15 digs, three assists, one ace and one block.
Volleyball Setter of the Week
Addeson Jenniges, So, Northwestern
Walnut Grove, Minn./Westbrook
Jenniges led the Eagles with 65 assists (9.29 per set) across two matches on the week, adding 8 digs and 2 aces (both against #8 UW-Eau Claire) as well. Her 10.35 assists per set this season rank 6th in Division III.
Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week
Lexi Coon, Fy, Minnesota Morris, L
Fon Du Lac, Wis./St. Mary's Springs Academy
Coon in a nonconference match tallied a career-high 30 digs in the five-set win over St. Scholastica. The first-year libero played a pivotal role after the Cougars dropped the first two sets in completing the reverse sweep. Coon also totaled four assists and one service ace.
