UMAC Athletes of the Week: Dec. 30 - Jan. 5, 2025

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced their Athlete of the Week award winners Tuesday in the sports of men's and women's basketball. The awards are nominated by UMAC coaches and athletics communications staff and selected each week by the latter group.
 
MEN'S BASKETBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Pal Dak, Senior, Minnesota Morris Cougars
Lincoln, Neb. / Lincoln East
- Dak put on a clinic in the Cougar's matchup against Macalester, playing all 40 minutes and dropping a team-high 23 points while leading Minnesota Morris with 9 rebounds on the defensive glass. Dak shot 70% from the charity stripe and knocked down the three free throws that sent the game to overtime. He also added 2 assists, 1 block, and 2 steals to his stat line on the night.
 
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Ella Falk, Sophomore, Northwestern Eagles
Jamestown, N.D. / Jamestown
- Falk led the Eagles in scoring in each of their two Twin Cities New Year’s Classic wins. Against Nebraska Wesleyan, the sophomore was on fire from deep, making 6 of 8 three-pointers and 8 of 12 field goals en route to 22 points and 5 rebounds. The following day, she scored 14 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 3 assists in a double-digit win over Augsburg.
 

The UMAC is an NCAA Division III member comprised of eight full-time member schools from Minnesota and Wisconsin: Bethany Lutheran College, Crown College, Martin Luther College, North Central University, Northland College, University of Minnesota Morris, University of Northwestern, and University of Wisconsin-Superior.
