ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced their Athlete of the Week award winners Tuesday in the sports of men's and women's basketball and football. The awards are nominated by UMAC coaches and athletics communications staff and selected each week by the latter group.
MEN'S BASKETBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Drew Sagedahl, Senior, Bethany Lutheran Vikings
Olivia, Minn. / BOLD
- Sagedahl propelled the Vikings to their first win of the season Thursday, as the Vikings won 95-94 in overtime at Saint Mary's. The senior went a perfect 10-of-10 from the line in the win including four makes in overtime to secure the win, while adding nine rebounds in the contest.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Brayli Reimer, Sophomore, Crown Polars
Red Lodge, Mont. / Red Lodge
- Reimer tallied 20+ points in 2 contests with one coming against a #15 ranked UW-Stout team. She averaged 19.5 ppg, 15 total rebounds and 8 assists.
FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Beau Burk, Senior, Northwestern Eagles
Ogilvie, Minn. / Ogilvie
- Burk had a performance for the ages in his final regular season game. Not only did he break UNW's all-time career receiving yards record, but he also hauled in 11 receptions for 132 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The senior sensation closes the regular season as the UMAC leader in all receiving categories.
FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Dylan Young, Sophomore, Minnesota Morris
Little Falls, Minn. / Little Falls
- Young totaled up 6 tackles, two sacks for 8 yards of loss and one forced fumbled in a 41-7 victory for the Cougars against Martin Luther.
FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Jaymeson Travis, Freshman, Minnesota Morris
Maple Grove, Minn. / Osseo
- Travis punted for 153 yards in five punts and added on 373 yards in 7 kickoffs for the Cougars. He also kicked to the endzone for 3 touchbacks on the day.
The UMAC is an NCAA Division III member comprised of eight full-time member schools from Minnesota and Wisconsin: Bethany Lutheran College, Crown College, Martin Luther College, North Central University, Northland College, University of Minnesota Morris, University of Northwestern, and University of Wisconsin-Superior.
