ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its Player of the Week award winners Monday in the sports of football, volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, and men's and women's golf. The UMAC Player of the Week awards are nominated by UMAC coaches and athletics communications/sports information staff and selected each week by the latter group. 

FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Paul Garrett, Senior, Greenville University
Goodwater, Ala./Clay Central
- Ran for 185 yards on only 11 carries through three quarters of football.
- Had three touchdowns on the day: two rushing and one on an interception return for a touchdown.

FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Chayce Meyer, Sophomore, University of Minnesota Morris
Osakis, Minn./Osakis
- Recorded 3.0 tackles for a loss including 1.5 sacks and a quarterback hurry on Saturday against Carleton.
- Made five total tackles.

FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lucas Hermo, Senior, Greenville University
Madrid, Spain/Micael
- Was a perfect 9-for-9 on kicks, making eight extra points and a 21-yard field goal.
- Averaged 55.7 yards per kickoff on 10 kickoffs.
 
VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Abby Glanzer, Junior, No. 6 University of Northwestern
Brandon, S.D./Sioux Falls Christian
- Had 24 kills each in match against #3 Oshkosh and #16 Transylvania at the UW-Whitewater Tournament, finishing with an incredible 6.00 kills per set.
- Surpassed the 1,000 career kills mark, becoming the 11th player in Northwestern program history to reach that mark, and was named to the All-Tournament team.
 
VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Marylyn Schroyer, Senior, No. 6 University of Northwestern
Ft. Collins, Colo./Ft. Collins
- 55 digs in two games for 6.8 digs per set against nationally ranked opponents.
- Recorded 31 digs against #3 Oshkosh and 24 digs in a sweep over #16 Transylvania.

VOLLEYBALL SETTER OF THE WEEK
Megan Van Gheem, Senior, Northland College
Indianapolis, Ind./Cardinal Ritter
- Had 91 assists as the Jills went 2-1 at the Lawrence Invitational, recording a season-high of 42 in the four-set win over Lawrence University.
- Tallied 11 service aces with only two service errors.
 
MEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Harrison Tibbetts, Sophomore, Northland College
Wollaston, England/Wollaston Village
- Scored five goals with the game-winner in the win over Martin Luther.
- On the week, had 13 shots with seven on goal for five goals.

MEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jamie Colvill, Junior, Northland College
Canvey Island, Essex, England/Basildon United
- Started UMAC play with two wins and two clean sheets.
- Made five saves in his two games without allowing a goal.
 
WOMEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Haley Mersberger, Sophomore, University of Northwestern
Kiel, Wis./Elkhart Lake Glenbeulah
- Exploded with five goals in two games to begin conference play.
- Scored a hat trick at Bethany Lutheran and added another two goals against Crown.
 
WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brooke Wolanin, Senior, Bethany Lutheran College
Littleton, Colo./Littleton
- Made eight saves in net in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Northwestern including a few key saves late.
- With the Vikings leading by one, Wolanin saved all five shots she faced in the final 35 minutes, including a diving save in the 76th minute to secure the win for BLC.
 
MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Aidan Doherty, Junior, University of Wisconsin-Superior
Wild Rose, Wis./Wild Rose
- At the Running of the Cows, Doherty finished with a 27:03, beating his PR by 35 seconds.
- This is the second fastest time ran by a UMAC runner so far this fall.
 
WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Halle Barker, Junior, University of Wisconsin-Superior
Superior, Wis./Superior Senior
- Finished the Running of the Cows with a 24:06, beating her previous PR by over a minute to lead the UW-Superior to an eighth place finished in a highly competitive field, including four nationally ranked teams.
- This is the best 6k time so far this season among UMAC runners.
 
MEN'S GOLF PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Shane Seiffert, Sophomore, University of Northwestern
Corcoran, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong
- Medalist at the UMAC Preview with an even-par 72, winning by two strokes.
- Earlier in the week, Seiffert led the way for UNW with a t-30 finish in a loaded field at the Strawberry Creek Classic in Kenosha, Wisconsin with a two-day tournament score of +8 (78, 74).

WOMEN'S GOLF PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Morgan Eckman, Freshman, University of Northwestern
Jordan, Minn./Jordan
- Won the UMAC preview by tying UNW's program record with a 77 (+5).
- Two days later, broke the Northwestern women's golf school record with a 75 (+3) in a dual with St. Kate's.
