St. Paul, MN - It was a historic year in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) for tennis, as four new members joined the league this season to form the south division, those schools were Greenville University, Principia College, Webster University, and Westminster College. Both the north and south divisions had their own awards, with Northwestern and Principia (the respective north and south division champions) being well represented in this year's postseason awards.

In the north division, outstanding Wisconsin-Superior freshman Andreina Tejada won both the Rookie of the Year award and the Player of the Year award while Matt Swigart from Northwestern took home Coach of the Year.

North division and UMAC Tournament champion Northwestern Eagles took up quite a bit of real estate on this year's all-conference teams, landing six spots on the three teams. On the first team, Domiano Biadame, Annie Orvis, and Abby Johnson were all selected, Taylar Smith and Ana Marquardt were second team selections and Elise Jarchow was an honorable mention selection this year to round things out for Northwestern.

Second place Minnesota Morris also was represented well on this year's awards list with four Cougars being selected. Kiley Rodarmel and Abby Burquest were both selected to the first team, Allison Bruhn was named second team all-conference, and Valerie Gall was named to the honorable mention team.

Rounding out the first team was UMAC Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year Andreina Tejada from Wisconsin-Superior. Also from Wisconsin-Superior was Courtney Brandt who earned a spot on the second team, and Marina Dostal was named honorable mention. From Martin Luther, Rachel Schoeneck and Sailor Mohlenbrock from Bethany Lutheran round out the second team.

Crown College was named the Team Sportsmanship winner for the north division, which is selected by the UMAC coaches and awarded to the team that best represents sportsmanship throughout the entire season, including the championship event. Each team also had one representative named to the individual sportsmanship award list.

Moving to the other side of the conference now, where Principia College swept the three major awards. Bissola Lassissi was named Player of the Year, Saray Cisneros was named Rookie of the Year, and head coach Shannon Carney was named Coach of the Year. Both Bissola and Saray were named first team all-conference along with Kelsie Huss for the Panthers. Veronika Volkart and Kimbeley Peterson earned to second team all-conference honors to round out the awards for the Panthers.

The team that finished second in the south division, Webster University, had six players named to one of the three teams. On the first team, Erin Brezovar and Bailey Higgins were selected after their impressive seasons. Emma Ferguson, Kylie Chitwood, and Bailee Pineda were all second team selections, and Maddie Mena was named an honorable mention selection.

The Greenville Panthers had Addison Brannon and Mireia Birosta named to the first team, while Stephanie Kamp was a second team selection. The Panthers also had two athletes named honorable mention in Emily Buratovich and Callie Adkins.

Greenville University was named the Team Sportsmanship winner for the south division, which is selected by the UMAC coaches and awarded to the team that best represents sportsmanship throughout the entire season, including the championship event. Each team also had one representative named to the individual sportsmanship award list.
