TOURNAMENT RECAP: UMAC Men's Basketball Semifinals
ST. PAUL, MN - The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Men's Basketball Tournament got off to an exciting start in the semifinals, as the Bethany Lutheran Vikings and the Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets earned hard fought wins to earn a trip to the UMAC title game on Sunday. The No. 1 Vikings will play host to the No. 2 Yellowjackets on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Mankato, with a UMAC tournament title and a trip to the NCAA Tournament on the line.

This game was close through the first half, with Bethany just leading 37-33 at halftime. The Vikings would pull away however thanks in part to a 14-0 run over a 5 minute span to give Bethany the cushion it needed to pull out a UMAC semifinal win. The Vikings shot over 50% from the field and were 17-21 at the line.
- Drew Sagedahl led the way tonight for the Vikings, scoring a game high 24 points on 8-13 shooting from the field.
- The Vikings scored 19 points off of 16 Cougars turnovers.
- Pal Dak had 19 points on 9-15 shooting to lead Minnesota Morris.
No. 2 Wisconsin-Superior 69 No. 3 Northwestern 59
The Yellowjackets continued locking down opponents on the defensive end on Friday night, holding the Eagles to just 59 points, 19 points below their season average. This one was tight throughout, UW-Superior led by just 4 with 8 minutes to play, before a 3 pointer extended the lead to 7 and Northwestern would never get closer than that the rest of the evening with the Yellowjackets winning by 10.
- The Yellowjackets held the Eagles to only shooting 36.7% from the field.
- J'Vaun Walker led the way for UW-Superior with 17 points and 5 steals.
- Kyle Kaemingk led the Eagles with a game high 28 points and 9 rebounds.

All UMAC postseason events have the following set admissions prices: Adults, $10; college students and seniors, $5; youth (Age 6-18), $5; age 5 and under, FREE. Any UMAC students, faculty and staff are free with a valid and current institutional ID. No other passes will be accepted.
