ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its Player of the Week award winners Monday in the sports of football, volleyball, and men's and women's soccer. The UMAC Player of the Week awards are nominated by UMAC coaches and athletics communications/sports information staff and selected each week by the latter group. 

FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Caden Cantrell, Sophomore, University of Northwestern
Snowflake, Ariz. / Snowflake
-Led the Eagles' offense to a 47-point explosion in a win over Crown.
-Went 20-33 for 301 yards and a touchdown through the air.
-Ran for two more touchdowns on the ground.

FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jayden Goodwin, Sophomore, University of Northwestern
New Richmond, Wis./  Saint Croix Central
-Had a huge day defensively in the Eagles' 47-23 win over Crown.
-Seven total tackles (six solo) with a forced a fumble that a teammate ended up scooping up and bringing back for a touchdown.
-Added an interception and a pass breakup.

FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Luke Malamisuro, Senior, University of Northwestern
Cambridge Isanti, Minn. / Cambridge Isanti
-Had three punt returns for the Eagles and finished with 99 total return yards.
-Took a punt back for a 78-yard touchdown.
-Also had an interception which he returned for 29 yards.
 
VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Abby Glanzer, Junior, No. 4 University of Northwestern
Brandon, S.D. / Sioux Falls Christian
-Was the top offensive player for the Eagles' undefeated week as Northwestern won five matches.
-Recorded 3.8 kills per set, three aces, and 34 digs.
-Had 17 kills for 5.67 per set and 13 digs in a 3-0 win over Minnesota Morris.
 
VOLLEYBALL SETTER OF THE WEEK
Grace Strickfaden, Junior, No. 4 University of Northwestern
Norwood-Young America, Minn. / NYA
-Led the Eagles to a 5-0 week with 135 assists in only 16 sets (8.4 assists per set).
-Had 32 against UW-Eau Claire (RV) and a season high 47 in only three sets against Crown.
-Added 38 digs and 7 aces on the week.
 
VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Marylyn Schroyer, Senior, No. 4 University of Northwestern
Ft. Collins, Colo. / Ft. Collins
-Became the first player in program history and only the 10th player in the history of NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball to reach 3,000 digs in a career during Saturday's match against Minnesota Morris.
-Averaged 6.6 digs per set over the week.
 
MEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nicolai Stokker, Senior, University of Wisconsin-Superior
Klokkarstua, Norway / St. Hallvard Huringen IF
-In three matches, Stokker picked up three goals and three assists in victories over Crown, St. Scholastica, and Minnesota Morris.
-He fired eight shots with five on frame, including a game-winner against the Cougars.
  
MEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Josh Bellamy, Junior, University of Wisconsin-Superior
High Wycombe, England / FAB Football Academy FAB Academy / Hughenden Valley FC / Princess Risborough FC
-The Yellowjacket defender exploded on the pitch this past week, scoring in all three matches played and holding the opposition to zero goals.
-He scored a goal against Crown leading to a 3-0 victory, completed the hat trick against bridge-rival St. Scholastica, and found the back of the net twice against Minnesota Morris.
 
WOMEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ashley Casper, Junior, Bethany Lutheran College
Petaluma, Calif. / San Marin
-Had one goal in Tuesday's 4-0 win over Minnesota Morris before tallying a hat trick in Saturday's win at North Central.
-Casper now has two hat tricks from the midfield this season and nine total goals.
 
WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Elysabeth Lough, Junior, Northland College
Las Vegas, Nev.
-Over the week recorded 31 saves and had a save percentage of .806.
-Had a season-high 18 saves against Northwestern.
-Recorded her second shutout of the season in the 0-0 draw to Martin Luther with 13 saves to help secure of point for the LumberJills.
