ST. PAUL, Minn. – The University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets won their first conference title in program history on Saturday at the 2023 UMAC Women’s Cross Country Championship at Winthrop Golf Course. Glen Drexler earned Coach of the Year honors for coaching the Yellowjackets to their first championship while Cora Hudella led the way on the course to earn the Individual Championship.

In her Individual Championship-winning run, Hudella finished with a time of 23:02.5 to best her previous career personal record of 23:59.1 by 56.6 seconds and beat this fall season's previous top UMAC time of 23:44.5 by 42.0 seconds. The run was the fastest UMAC championship-winning time since Casey Hovland, an All-American for St. Scholastica, won her third consecutive individual title in 2017 with a time of 21:52.0.
Martin Luther College tied the Yellowjackets for the most All-Conference honorees with four each. Wisconsin-Superior had three First Team All-UMAC members and one Second Team. The Knights had one First Team honoree and three on the Second Team.
Bethany Lutheran won the team sportsmanship award, an accolade that is selected by the UMAC coaches and awarded to the team that best represents sportsmanship throughout the entire season, including the championship event. Each team also had one representative named to the individual sportsmanship award list.
