ST. PAUL, MN - Below you will find the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Players of the Week for the week of September 5-11.


Football
  • Offensive Player of the Week
    • Paul Garrett (Greenville)
      • Rushed for 154 yards on 18 carries.
      • Scored 2 touchdowns.
      • Led Greenville to a 40-30 win over Rockford.
  • Defensive Player of the Week
    • Demetre Forshee (Crown)
      • Totaled 13 tackles.
      • Recorded 6 solo tackles, with 2 being tackles for loss in Crown's game against Carleton.
  • Special Teams Player of the Week
    • Lucas Hermo (Greenville)
      • Had 2 field goals of 32 and 31 yards.
      • Went 4 for 4 on extra points.
      • Pinned Rockford inside the 20 on 3 different kickoffs.
Women’s Soccer
  • Defensive Player of the Week
    • Quinn Clark (UW-Superior)
      • Had 7 saves in a 0-0 shutout of UW-Stout.
  • Offensive Player of the Week
    • Monica Calderon (Minnesota Morris)
      • Scored 2 goals for Minnesota Morris against Concordia (Minn).
Men’s Soccer
  • Defensive Player of the Week
    • Alex Paredes (UW-Superior)
      • Led UW-Superior defensively to a 2-0 week.
      • Recorded a .857 save percentage and six saves.
      • Allowed 1 goal over 2 games.
  • Offensive Player of the Week
    • Blake Perry (UW-Superior)
      • Scored 3 goals over a 2 game span.
      • Helped lead Superior to wins over Bethel and Concordia (Minn.).
Volleyball
  • Setter of the Week
    • McKenzie Newton (Minnesota Morris)
      • Recorded 95 assists in 14 sets against 4 teams that either had been ranked or are currently ranked.
      • 6.78 assists per set.
  • Defensive Player of the Week
    • Marylyn Schroyer (Northwestern)
      • Became the 4th player in program history with 2,000 career digs.
      • Averaged 5.3 digs/set.
      • Led the Eagles to a 2-0 week with wins over Grinnell and Hamline.
      • 2nd straight UMAC Player of the Week award.
  • Offensive Player of the Week
    • Cara Pence (North Central)
      • Helped lead the Rams to a 4-0 weekend.
      • Recorded 16 kills and a .375 kill percentage in a win over Faith Baptist.
      • Had 11 more kills against Calvary.
Women’s Cross Country
  • Runner of the Week
    • Jeanna Scanlon (UW-Superior)
      • Finished 19th overall at the Bulldog Open on Friday.
      • Time of 21:58.4 made her the 4th fastest Division III runner at event.
      • Team finished 3rd with 71 total points.
Men’s Cross Country
  • Runner of the Week
    • Michael Butterfield (UW-Superior)
      • Finished 7th overall at the Bulldog Open.
      • Finished with a time of 15:50.7 which was 1st among Division III runners.
      • The Yellowjackets finished 2nd overall as a team with 56 points.
Men’s Golf
  • Golfer of the Week
    • Jake Sweeney (North Central)
      • Sweeney won the UMAC Preview shooting a 70 (-2).
      • Only player under par, winning the event by 5 strokes.
      • 2nd straight UMAC Player of the Week award.
Women’s Golf
  • Golfer of the Week
    • Claire Haakenson (Northwestern)
      • Won the UMAC Preview shooting an 88 (+16).
      • Led the Eagles to a 1st place finish as a team.
