UMAC Player of the Week Awards - Feb. 21, 2022
ST. PAUL, Minn.--- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its Player of the Week award winners Monday in the sports of men's and women's basketball, softball, men's and women's tennis and men's and women's indoor track and field. The UMAC Player of the Week awards are nominated by UMAC coaches and athletics communications/sports information staff and selected by the latter. The awards are regularly published Monday afternoons.
The award winners and descriptions of their accomplishments for the week are below:

MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Noah Alm, Sr., Northwestern
Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake
- Hit conference title-winning jumper with five seconds left Friday vs. BLC
- Averaged 21.5 ppg and 5.5 rpg in two wins
- Scored 27 points on 7-of-8 shooting beyond the arc vs. Martin Luther
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Megan Roberts, Sr., Northwestern
Greeley, Colo./Dayspring Christian Academy
- Led Northwestern to two UMAC wins to share conference title
- Averaged 15.5 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 3 spg, 1.5 apg in two victories
- Recorded 15-point, 11-rebound double double against Bethany Lutheran
SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kaija Mork, Fy., Bethany Lutheran
Sioux Falls, S.D./Brandon Valley
- Led Bethany Lutheran to pair of season-opening wins
- Went 6-of-12 (.500) with three runs and four RBI in four games
- Recorded one double and a sacrifice hit
SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Kayla Senne, Fy., Bethany Lutheran
Northwood, Iowa/Northwood Kensett
- Tallied two wins in first two collegiate starts in the circle
- Allowed just five earned runs in 15 IP with 17 strikeouts
- Earned two complete games
MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Michael Janes, So., Wisconsin-Superior
Bismark, N.D./Legacy
- Led Yellowjackets to first two wins of the season
- Went 2-0 at No. 1 singles and 2-0 at No. 2 doubles
- Became program leader in career singles victories (17)
WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Maya Callaway, Jr., Wisconsin-Superior
Duluth, Minn./Duluth East
- Led Yellowjackets with 3-1 mark in two matches
- Earned pair of wins at No. 1 singles and one win at No. 2 doubles
- Recorded comeback (5-7, 6-2, 10-7) win vs. Saint Mary's
MEN'S INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Derrick Moe, Sr., Wisconsin-Superior
Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet
- Placed third in the 3,000-meter run at Minnesota State meet Friday
- Lowered his UMAC-best time to 8:39.53
- Leads the conference in the event by nearly 22 seconds
MEN'S INDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Jamon Howard, Sr., Northwestern
Fargo, N.D./Fargo South
- Won the long jump at St. Olaf meet Saturday
- Tallied distance of 6.48 meters (21-3.25)
- Ranks second in the UMAC, third in program history
WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Maddie Carrington, So., Minnesota Morris
Morris, Minn./Morris
- Took second in the mile run at North Dakota Open
- Tallied UMAC-best time of 5:18.13
- Top Division III finisher in the event
WOMEN'S INDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Jenica Moes, Sr., Minnesota Morris
Kranzburg, S.D./Watertown
- Recorded season-bests in shot put and weight throw
- Ranks second in the UMAC in shot put with mark of 11.46 meters (37-7.25)
- Fourth in UMAC for weight throw at 12.03 meters (39-5.75)
