ST. PAUL, MN - Here are the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Player of the Week winners for the week of October 24-30.

Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
  • Caleb Hengst (Martin Luther)
    • Anchored the defense that allowed 1 goal in 2 games.
    • Recorded an assist on the game-winning goal against North Central.
Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
  • Jake Kidd (UW-Superior)
    • Scored 2 goals and had 2 assists in the Yellowjackets wins over Minnesota Morris and Crown.
    • Scored 1 goal in each match.
Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
  • Jenna Lang (UW-Superior)
    • Made four saves in a 3-1 win over Minnesota Morris.
    • Improved to 10-2-2 on the season.
Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
  • Haley Mersberger (Northwestern)
    • Scored 5 goals in 2 games while breaking the single season record for goals in a season.
    • Had a hat trick against Bethany Lutheran with the 3rd goal being the game winner.
Volleyball Setter of the Week
  • McKenzie Newton (Minnesota-Morris)
    • Led the Cougars to a pair of sweeps over UW-Superior and Northland.
    • Had 51 assists (8.5 per set), 10 kills, and 17 digs on the week.
Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
  • Alyssa Ukestad (Minnesota-Morris)
    • Became the all-time digs leader at Minnesota-Morris last week.
    • Finished with 31 digs on the weekend (5.17 per set).
Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week
  • Abby Glanzer (Northwestern)
    • Hit .381 with 26 kills to lead UNW to sweeps over Bethany Lutheran and Martin Luther.
    • Glanzer also added 5 blocks, 2 aces, and 18 digs on the week.
Football Offensive Player of the Week
  • Jeremiah Staten (Northwestern)
    • Staten ran for 121 yards and a touchdown on Saturday in a win over Minnesota Morris.
    • The win put Northwestern on top of the UMAC standings.
Football Defensive Player of the Week
  • Jaden Apple-Gibbs (Greenville)
    • Led the Panthers defensively to a win over Crown on Saturday, not allowing an offensive touchdown.
    • Had 1 sack, 2 tackles for loss, and 2 interceptions which were returned for 84 yards.
Football Special Teams Player of the Week
  • Cole Uplegger (Northwestern)
    • Made all 4 extra point attempts and a field goal in Northwestern’s win on Saturday.
    • Had a successful onside kick.
