ST. PAUL, MN - With postseason play looming in the next couple of weeks, here are the UMAC Player of the Week winners for the week of October 17-23.

Women’s Cross Country
  • Elizabeth Lofstad (North Central)
    • Won the NCCAA Regional meet covering the 5k course in 20:21.
    • Clear of 2nd place by 17 seconds.
Men’s Cross Country
  • Michael Herr-Zielke (North Central)
    • Finished 5th at the NCCAA Regionals covering the 8k course in 30:37.
Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
  • Alex Hanson (UW-Superior)
    • Led the Yellowjackets defensively to a 3-0 week in UMAC play.
    • Surrendered just 26 shots last week with only 13 being on target.
Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
  • Carter Watkinson (Minnesota Morris)
    • Scored both goals in a 2-1 win over Bethany Lutheran.
Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
  • Elysabeth Lough (Northland)
    • Had 22 saves in 2 games this past weekend.
    • Recorded a .956 save percentage.
Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
  • Niya Wilson (UW-Superior)
    • Scored 3 goals and had 1 assist in two matches last week.
    • Scored 2 goals on Friday to become the Yellowjackets all-time goal scoring leader with 37.
Volleyball Setter of the Week
  • Felicia Luther (Northwestern)
    • Recorded 81 assists to help lead the Eagles to a 4-0 week.
    • Luther also had 6 aces and 22 digs on the week.
Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
  • Marylyn Schroyer (Northwestern)
    • Recorded 85 digs to lead the Eagles defensively a week ago.
    • Schroyer had 30 digs (6.00 per set) in a 3-2 win over No. 21 Coe College.
Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week
  • Abby Glanzer (Northwestern)
    • Had 59 kills in 4 matches to lead the Eagles offense.
    • Recorded 25 kills, 25 digs, 5 blocks, and 3 aces in a win over No. 21 Coe College.
Football Offensive Player of the Week
  • Terry Warner (Crown)
    • Warner had 9 receptions for 260 yards and 3 touchdowns on Saturday in a win over Finlandia.
    • Broke the school’s single game receiving yards record.
Football Defensive Player of the Week
  • Gabe Banks (Crown)
    • Recorded 11 tackles with 8 of them being solo on Saturday.
    • Banks had a key 52 yard interception return for a touchdown.
Football Special Teams Player of the Week
  • Alex Happ (Minnesota Morris)
    • Happ connected on field goals of 37 and 19 yards, and went 5 of 6 on extra points.
    • Punted 3 times for an average of 39 yards with one of them pinning Martin Luther at the 4-yard line.
