Northwestern's Krause and Northland's Bloedel Highlight UMAC Women's Golf Awards
ST. PAUL, MN - For the first time since 2010, Minnesota Morris has clinched the UMAC title in women's golf on the team side while Northland's Maddy Bloedel earned medalist honors for the Lumberjills. Minnesota Morris and Northwestern highlighted the All-UMAC First Team honorees, earning seven of the ten sports.
The Cougars had four players earn All-Conference honors, three were named to the All-UMAC First Team while another was named to the UMAC-All Conference Honorable Mention team. The Eagles had four players named to the All-UMAC First Team with Mattie Krause being named UMAC Women's Golfer of the Year. Kendall Clark from Crown earned Rookie of the Year honors after a fantastic freshman season and a third place finish this past weekend. Coach of the Year saw both Billy Aune of Northwestern and Jana Koehler of Minnesota Morris take home the award after tying in the voting.

UMAC Championship Results
The Cougars were dominant this season, finishing first or second at every event they competed in this fall. The Cougars had three golfers named to the All-UMAC First Team, two scored in the top eight of the UMAC Championship to be named to the all-conference team in Justine Day (2nd) and Hannah Selig (4th), while Payton Sierra earned first team honors via the coaches' vote.
The Northwestern Eagles won six different events this year and had four golfers named to the All-UMAC First Team, three of them qualified by finishing in the top eight at the UMAC Championship including Claire Haakenson (6th), Kirsten Darling (7th), and Kelly Van Den Bussche (8th) with Mattie Krause earning first team honors via the coaches' vote while also taking home the UMAC Women's Golfer of the Year award. Krause finished in the top ten in seven different events this year while winning two of them.
One of the biggest improving programs from a year ago is the Crown College Polars. After not even having enough golfers to qualify for a team score a year ago, the Polars finished third at this year's UMAC Championship. The Polars had Kendall Clark earn All-UMAC First Team honors after finishing third this past weekend, she also earned UMAC Rookie of the Year honors. Crown also had Lexi Thomas and Bethany Habbena named to the UMAC All-Conference Honorable Mention team.
The Yellowjackets of Wisconsin-Superior also had a couple of golfers named to the UMAC All-Conference teams. Bryce Burris, who finished fifth at the UMAC Championship, was named to the All-UMAC First Team. Allie Maschke for Superior also earned all-conference honors, being named to the UMAC All-Conference Honorable Mention team.
Individually, Maddy Bloedel earned medalist honors after shooting a 258 (+42). It was close throughout with Bloedel trailing by one stroke entering Saturday, she would go on to shoot an 87 to win the UMAC Championship by one stroke. On top of that, Bloedel had an outstanding all around season, finishing in the top ten at events six times this year while winning two of them.
