UMAC Player of the Week Awards - Sept. 7, 2021
ST. PAUL, Minn.--- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its Player of the Week award winners Tuesday in the sports of football, volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's golf and men's and women's cross country The UMAC Player of the Week awards are nominated by UMAC coaches and athletics communications/sports information staff and selected by the latter. The awards are regularly published Monday afternoons.
The award winners and descriptions of their accomplishments for the week are below:

FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Seth Logan, Sr., Greenville
Tulare, Calif./Mission Oak
- Recorded four touchdowns in win over Millikin
- Tallied 151 receiving yards with 10 receptions
- Scored game-winning TD with 30 seconds left to play
FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Isaac Herron, Fy., Crown
Imbler, Ore./Imbler
- Tallied six tackles including 1.5 for a loss in collegiate debut
- Two tackles were solo with one for a loss
- Added a blocked kick and interception
FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dylan Carns, Fy., Greenville
Pinkneyville, Ill./Pinckneyville
- Averaged 43.3 yards/punt in Greenville victory
- Recorded a long punt of 51 yards from own 1-yard line
- Placed one punt inside the 20-yard line
VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Abby Glanzer, Fy., Northwestern
Brandon, S.D./Sioux Falls Christian
- Averaged 4.65 kills per set and .295 hitting percentage in five matches
- Tallied 27-kill, 12-dig double-double in win over Bethel
- Named to Kathryne Pals Legacy Invitational All-Tournament Team
VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Marylyn Schroyer, Jr., Northwestern
Ft. Collins, Colo./Ft. Collins
- Averaged 5.06 digs per set for Northwestern
- Recorded 25 digs in two matches
- Named to Kathryne Pals Legacy Invitational All-Tournament Team
VOLLEYBALL SETTER OF THE WEEK
Sydney Schwitters, Sr., Northwestern
Clara City, Minn./MACCRAY
- Averaged 10.06 assists per set in 4-1 week for the Eagles
- Recorded 58 assists in five-set win over Bethel
- Named Kathryne Pals Legacy Invitational Tournament MVP
MEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Max Busch, Jr., Bethany Lutheran
Odenthal, Germany/Gymnasium Odenthal
- Helped Vikings to season-opening UMAC win
- Tallied a hat trick for third-straight time vs. Martin Luther
- Became program leader in game-winning goals
MEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mason Steffen, Jr., Bethany Lutheran

- Led Bethany Lutheran to conference win over Martin Luther
- Allowed just one goal in 13 shots faced
- Tallied four saves in the season-opening victory
WOMEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

- Scored two goals in 3-2 win over Wisconsin-River Falls
- Tallied game-winning penalty goal

- Earned medalist honors at the UMAC Preview
- Won by four strokes with round of 70 (-2)
- Recorded five birdies including four on the front nine
WOMEN'S GOLF PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hayley Thompson, Jr., Bethany Lutheran
Victoria, Minn./Chanhassen
- Earned medalist honors twice in three rounds played
- Set school record with round of 81 (+10) in win over Martin Luther
- Placed tied for third in UMAC Preview with 92 (+20)
MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK

- Top UMAC finisher at Crown Invite Saturday
- Placed ninth out of 70 competitors
- Clocked 21:23 on the 6,000-kilometer course
WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Kayla Tobin, So., Bethany Lutheran
Watertown, Wis./Homeschool
- Placed 114th at Augustana Twilight as second Division III finisher
- Ran just four seconds off the top Division III runner
- Clocked 20:29.60 on the 5,000-kilometer course
