ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its 2021 Outdoor Track & Field All-Conference and major award winners on Tuesday afternoon, recognizing the achievements of 30 student-athletes.

The College of St. Scholastica, the 2021 UMAC Outdoor Track & Field Men's Champions, took home two of the major awards, as voted on by the UMAC Track & Field coaches. Ryan Steger earned Track Athlete of the Meet recognition while Head Coach Todd Bouchie was named Coach of the Year.

Bethany Lutheran's Jake Marzinske, the top-point scorer at the UMAC meet, secured two major accolades, being selected the Field Athlete of the Week and the Rookie of the Year.

Steger was the meet's second-highest individual scorer, posting a total of 25 points in the two days of competition. Steger claimed victories in the 400m and 800m to pace the Saints' performance. He also was a part of the winning relay team for CSS in both the 4x400m and 4x800m relays.

Steger becomes the second-straight Saint to earn Outdoor Track Athlete of the Meet as Easton Foss took home the same award in 2019.

Bouchie was named Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year on the women's side in 2019 and earns his fifth overall COTY selection. The Saints led the meet wire-to-wire and won their seventh UMAC Outdoor Championship, their first since 2015.

BLC's Marzinske continued on his outstanding first season as a Viking, securing victories in the 100m hurdles and triple jump. He then posted second-place finishes in the 400m hurdles and the long jump to notch top-point scorer status. Earning both Rookie of the Year and Field Athlete of the Meet, the first-year athlete has already secured three UMAC major awards in Track & Field in his career. Marzinske was also named Rookie of the Year after this season's UMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Martin Luther won the team sportsmanship award, an accolade that is selected by the UMAC coaches and awarded to the team that best represents sportsmanship throughout the entire season. Each team also had one representative named to the individual sportsmanship award list.
