ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its 2021 Men's Tennis All-Conference Awards on Monday afternoon, honoring the outstanding athletic performances of 13 student-athletes.

St. Scholastica took both of the major awards with Elliot Schneider being named Player of the Year and Head Coach Wells Patten earning the Coach of the Year accolade.

Schneider posted an unblemished 12-0 record at the No. 1 singles slot for CSS, going 4-0 in regular season UMAC play. Schneider and doubles partner Jack Kearney went 8-4 in doubles at No. 1, also notching a 4-0 record in conference competition.

The senior from Duluth, Minn. helped the Saints to both the regular season and postseason UMAC Championships, securing key victories at No. 1 in both singles and doubles in the postseason final vs. UW-Superior. Schneider extends CSS' Player of the Year streak to seven-straight in men's tennis dating back to 2014.

Patten earns his 18th UMAC Men's Coach of the Year honor as the Saints went an undefeated 6-0 in UMAC play and 10-4 overall. As a program, CSS has now won 24 UMAC regular season titles and 19 UMAC Tournament championships under Patten. The Saints will be making their second-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, taking on Illinois Tech in the opening round on May 14 in Chicago, Ill.
