ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its 2021 Women's Tennis All-Conference Awards on Monday afternoon, honoring the outstanding athletic performances of 13 student-athletes.

Wisconsin-Superior's Maya Callaway was named Player of the Year while Head Coach Matt Swigart of Northwestern earned Coach of the Year honors.

Callaway went 5-0 in UMAC play and posted an overall 9-4 record at the No. 1 singles slot for the Yellowjackets. Callaway, who played with a few different teammates at No. 1 doubles, posted a combined 9-5 overall record, including a 5-1 mark in UMAC competition. Callaway is the first UWS student-athlete to be named UMAC Women's Tennis Player of the Year.

Under Swigart's tutelage, UNW secured both the regular sesaon and postseason UMAC championships, sporting an unblemished 6-0 UMAC record and 15-5 overall mark. The Eagles had a league-best five selections to the All-UMAC team in Belinda Weddle, Mafee Rinta, Taylar Smith, Elli Dodge and Jessica Gross.

Winning both the regular season and tournament titles, the 2021 Eagle team is just the second program in school history to accomplish that feat, matching the 2015 squad. Swigart, who coaches both the men's and women's program, secures his seventh overall UMAC Coach of the Year honor. UNW's women will be making their third appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

The 13-member All-UMAC squad is as follows by institution:

UNW (5) - Weddle, Rinta, Smith, Dodge, Gross
UMM (4) - Kiley Rodarmel, Kate Obright, Sam Tate, Megan Arens
UW-Superior (2) - Callaway, Emily Wald
CSS (2) - Maddy Jankila, Julia Maier

Crown College was named the Team Sportsmanship winner on the women's side, which is selected by the UMAC coaches and awarded to the team that best represents sportsmanship throughout the entire season, including the championship event. Each team also had one representative named to the individual sportsmanship award list.
