UMAC Player of the Week Awards - April 20, 2021

ST. PAUL, Minn.--- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its Player of the Week award winners Tuesday in the sports of football, men's and women's soccer and men's and women's golf. The UMAC Player of the Week awards are nominated by UMAC coaches and athletics communications/sports information staff and selected by the latter. The awards are published each Tuesday afternoon this spring for fall sports. 

The award winners and descriptions of their accomplishments for the week are below:

FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
13466Austin DeNoyer, Sr., Martin Luther
Lake Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran
- Set a new MLC career rushing yardage record with 2,837 yards
- Rushed for 150 yards and two TDs vs. Augsburg
- Now sits third in program-history with 32 career TDs



FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
13505Noah Nordlie, Martin Luther
Lake Orion, Mich./MIchigan Lutheran Seminary
- Had two interception and 1.0 TFLs vs. Augsburg
- Made nine total tackles, five unassisted
 



MEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
13503Max Busch, So., Bethany Lutheran
Odenthal, Germany/Gymnasium Odenthal
- Scored seven combined goals in two wins for BLC
- Tied his own single-game school record with four tallies vs. MLC
- Became BLC's career leader in goals (vs. MLC) and points (vs. Northland)



MEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
13508Taylor Tran, Jr., St. Scholastica
Northridge, Calif./Granada Hills Charter
- Scored his first collegiate goal vs. UNW
- CSS defense has allowed only four SOG in three games

 


WOMEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
13506Kaitlyn Raisch, Fr., UW-Superior
Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins
- Scored in each of UWS' two matches
- Helped UWS to 5-0-0, best start in program history
- Tallied GWG against UMM in 76th minute



WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
13509Morgan Philliber, Sr., UW-Superior
Apple Valley, Minn./Edina
- Made five saves in two Yellowjacket wins over Crown and Minnesota Morris
- Went over 430 minutes without conceding to start the season
- Has anchored the UWS defense, leading the team to a 5-0-0 start
 

MEN'S GOLF PLAYER OF THE WEEK
13507Jacob Sweeney, Fr., North Central
Madera, Calif./Liberty
- Placed first at NCU Triangular with a round of 76 
- Carded the third-lowest round in NCU history with a 72 at Loras Spring Invite
- Finished eighth overall at Loras Invite, a field of 70+ competitors



WOMEN'S GOLF PLAYER OF THE WEEK
13504Hannah Johnson, Sr., St. Scholastica
Two Harbors, Minn./Two Harbors
- Finished fourth at Millikin's Take Back the Night Challenge
- Shot a season-best 80 in Round One, followed by a season-best 74 in Round Two
- Marked her 16th career top-five finish, tied for third-most in CSS program history
