UMAC Player of the Week Awards - April 19, 2021
ST. PAUL, Minn.--- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its Player of the Week award winners Monday in the sports of baseball, softball, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's outdoor track and field. The UMAC Player of the Week awards are nominated by UMAC coaches and athletics communications/sports information staff and selected by the latter. The awards are published each Monday afternoon.
The award winners and descriptions of their accomplishments for the week are below:

BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ross Beumer, Jr., Bethany Lutheran
Northfield, Minn./Northfield
- Helped BLC to a 3-1 opening weekend in the UMAC
- Hit .500 with six runs, eight hits and 10 RBI
- Had five XBHs, two doubles, a triple and two homers
BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Owen Boerema, So., Northwestern
LItchfield, Minn./Litchfield
- Earned complete game shutout in UMAC win over UW-Superior
- Struck out a career-high 12 batters
- Surrendered just three hits
SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brett Burger, Sr., Martin Luther
Lake Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran
- Hit .526 (10-for-19) with six runs scored and six RBI
- Powered MLC to 4-0 UMAC record, 4-2 week
- Hit safely in all six contests
SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Alyssa Kosta, Sr., Bethany Lutheran
Redding, Calif./Enterprise
- Threw two complete games in BLC's wins over Crown
- 0.64 ERA over 11.0 innings of work
- Struck out eight batters and held opponents to .179 avg.
MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Gergo Potz Nagy, Jr., UW-Superior
Budapest, Hungary/Veres Palne Secondary Grammar School
- Undefeated in three singles matches, winning in straight sets
- Earned all wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles
- Picked up 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles vs. Bethany Lutheran
WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kiley Rodarmel, Fr., Minnesota Morris
Sartell, Minn./Sartell
- Won four combined matches for UMM between both singles and doubles
- Earned hard-fought 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 win at No. 3 singles vs. Northwestern
- Recorded comeback victory at No. 1 singles over St. Scholastica, 1-6, 6-2, 10-4
MEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Samuel Eben Ebai, Jr., Jr., St. Scholastica
Yaounde, Cameroon/P.S.S Mankon
- Involved in three program records at the Warhawk Invitational
- Clocked times of 10.84 in the 100m and 22.52 in the 200m
- Anchored the 4x100 relay, which finished in 42.71
MEN'S OUTDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Jake Marzinske, So., Bethany Lutheran
Saint Paul, Minn./St Croix Lutheran
- Won triple jump at Saint John Invitational with mark of 14.25 meters (46-9)
- School-record in triple jump and 13th-best in D-III
- Took fourth in 110m hurdles (16.45) and eighth in 400m hurdles (1:02.54)
WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Alexa Yeager, Sr., Minnesota Morris
Clearwater, Minn./Monticello
- Won the 5,000 meters at the Saint John's Invitational in 19:46.79
- Time is eight-best in school history
WOMEN'S OUTDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Jessica Bliese, Sr., Minnesota Morris
Osakis, Minn./Osakis
- Set a school-record in the shot put with a throw of 13.05 meters (42-9.75) at Saint John's Invitational
- Recorded hammer throw of 49.66 meters (162-11), one inch shy of school record
- Shot put and hammer throw marks rank 24th and 26th nationally, respectively
