Yellowjackets win third-straight UMAC men's soccer postseason championship
SUPERIOR, Wis.---For the third-straight year, No. 1 University of Wisconsin-Superior took down bridge rival No. 2 College of St. Scholastica in exciting fashion to claim the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) men's soccer tournament championship.
After playing two-thirds of the game to a tie, the Yellowjackets finally were able to pull away from the Saints to earn a 4-2 win in the fifth-consecutive conference title game match up with their local foe.

The first 20 minutes started off in scoreless fashion with the Yellowjackets controlling play before they finally broke through in the 21st minute with Blake Perry getting his squad on the board first on a set up from Miguel Ocampo. However, the Saints responded before the end of the half on a goal from Malcolm Lumsden to tie the game 1-1.
The game remained tied in the early minutes of the second half before a flurry of goals occurred between the two squads. At 57:10 the Yellowjackets went up 2-1 after an own goal, but 38 seconds later Ken Pryde found the equalizer. Then less than four minutes later the Yellowjackets got the eventual game winner from Ocampo who eventually added the fourth goal of the game to seal the win.
Perry finished with a goal and an assist as well as five shots on goal to lead the team and earn Tournament MVP honors. He finished the tournament with four goals and three assists in two games. Ocampo ended the day with two goals and four shots to add to the 'Jackets' offensive attack.
For the Saints, Corey Bulheller tallied eight saves to keep his team in the game. Offensively, the Saints were led by Nolan Friday with three shots on goal. The Saints finished as the tournament runner-up for the third-straight season and end with an overall record of 8-13-1.
The Yellowjackets receive the UMAC automatic qualifier to the NCAA postseason and will learn their postseason fate on Monday, Nov. 11 at 12:30 p.m. at
ncaa.com.
