Saints' head coach Chad Salmela was selected by his peers as Coach of the Year after the Saints recorded the lowest team score in the UMAC NCAA Division III era (since 2008) with a total of just 19 points. The Saints grabbed spots 1-2-3 and then 6-7-8. Three others finished in the top 13.
A total of 16 student-athletes were recognized for their finishes in Superior, Wisconsin, Saturday. All-UMAC First Team honors were awarded to the top eight finishers while the next eight were honored with All-UMAC Second Team nods.
Runner-up University of Wisconsin-Superior and third-place University of Minnesota Morris each had three individuals place on one of the two lists, while the University of Northwestern was the only other team with an individual honored.
Wisconsin-Superior won the team sportsmanship award, an accolade that is selected by the UMAC coaches and awarded to the team that best represents sportsmanship throughout the entire season, including the championship event. Each team also had one representative named to the individual sportsmanship award list.
