UMAC Player of the Week Awards - Nov. 4, 2019
ST. PAUL, Minn.--- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its Player of the Week award winners Monday in the sports of football, volleyball, men's and women's soccer. The UMAC Player of the Week awards are nominated for by UMAC coaches and sports information directors (SIDs) and selected by SIDs. The awards are published each Monday afternoon.
The award winners and descriptions of their accomplishments for the week are below:

FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Zach Edwards, Sr., St. Scholastica
St. Paul, Minn./Henry Sibley
- Threw four touchdowns and rushed for one in win
- Finished with 421 yards passing with 79.1 completion %
- Tied for second-most completions in a game (34) in program history
FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Daniel Voxland, Jr., St. Scholastica
Savage, Minn./Academy of Holy Angels
- Led defense that held Iowa Wesleyan to 31 yards passing
- Made an interception in the first half
- Returned a fumble 38 yards for a touchdown
FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Micah Otto, So., Martin Luther
Mequon, Wis./Luther Prep
- Went a perfect 4-for-4 on PAT attempts
- Picked up a bad snap on a punt for a 59-yard TD
- Recorded five kickoffs for 278 yards and three touchbacks
VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kalley Schwitters, Jr., Northwestern
Clara City, Minn./Central Christian
- Helped Northwestern earn UMAC title, No. 1 seed
- Averaged 3.25 k/s and 4.33 d/s
- Recorded three double-digit kill matches including 13 vs. UMM
VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Anna Gasch, Sr., Northwestern
Waverly, Iowa/Waverly-Shell Rock
- Averaged 1.33 b/s in three wins last week
- Recorded six blocks in win over Minnesota Morris
- Added 23 kills including eight vs. UMM
VOLLEYBALL SETTER OF THE WEEK
Sydney Schwitters, So., Northwestern
Clara City, Minn./MACCRAY
- Averaged 11.25 ast/s to clinch share of UMAC title
- Recorded two double-doubles (2.5 d/s)
- Tallied 54 assists in win over Cornell
MEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Max Busch, Fy., Bethany Lutheran
Odenthal, Germany/Gymnasium Odenthal
- Led Vikings in key win over Northwestern Tuesday
- Scored two goals in the win including the game-winner
- Extended streak as program leader in single-season goals and points
MEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Foster Browning, Jr., Crown
Locust Grove, Va./Orange County
- Led Crown to win over Martin Luther to end season
- Recorded eight saves for a shutout win
- Helped Storm to win despite being outshot 31-5
WOMEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lydia Bitter, Jr., Martin Luther
Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji
- Helped Martin Luther to two wins to clinch playoff berth
- Scored game-winning goal in overtime vs. UWS
- Recorded team-best 11 shots in two games
WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mollie Fischer, Jr., Martin Luther
Burlington, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran
- Recorded two shutouts to lead Knights to postseason berth
- Stopped all six shots faced in two games
- Ended regular season with seven shutouts on the year
