ST. PAUL – The College of St. Scholastica and the University of Wisconsin-Superior will meet in the 2015 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Men’s Soccer Tournament Championship on Saturday for the first time in conference history.

The Saints (10-0 UMAC), who entered the tournament as the No.1 seed after winning the regular season title, earned their place in Saturday’s UMAC Championship by defeating fifth-seeded Bethany Lutheran College (4-4-2 UMAC) in the semifinal round 10-0.  Kyle Farrar dominated the field scoring five goals and adding one assist for the Saints.  St. Scholastica had 26 total shots on goal in their commanding semifinal win

Second-seeded Wisconsin-Superior (8-2 UMAC)  advances to Saturday’s Championship after beating the No. 3 seed the University of Minnesota Morris (5-4-1 UMAC)  1-0 in Wednesday’s semifinals.  Daniel Kearns scored for the Yellowjackets off of a Joey Gustafson assist just before the 81st minute for the game winner.  Superior goalkeeper Ben Wilhelm had two saves in the shutout.

The Saints and the Yellowjackets met in regular season play twice this season with St. Scholastica victorious in both contests by scores of 4-0 and 3-1.

The winner of Saturday’s Tournament Championship will earn the league’s automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Tournament.
