Crown's Brown Claims Fourth UMAC Weekly Honor
MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
G James Brown, Crown College
Brown nearly averaged a double-double on the weekend, scoring 20.5 points per game while averaging 9.5 rebounds. His double-double (26 points, 12 rebounds) against Northland led Crown to their first win of the year.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
G Briana Brandts, Bethany Lutheran College
Brandts recorded her third and fourth double-doubles of the season Friday and Saturday. The guard scored 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in Friday's win at North Central and bettered that performance with a 17-point, 16-rebound effort Saturday at Northwestern. She also shot over 54 percent from the floor on the weekend.
MEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Jeremy Peterson, College of St. Scholastica
Peterson set a program record in the weight throw with a mark of 16.69m at the UW-Stout Open. Peterson finished runner-up in the event and also placed sixth in the shot put. He is now ranked 24th in NCAA Division III in the weight throw.
WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Nicole Christianson, College of St. Scholastica
Christianson won the high jump and triple jump for the third time this season at the UW-Stout Open. She won the high jump clearing a season-high 1.65m. She then set a personal record for the second consecutive meet in the triple jump with a winning mark of 11.07m. Christianson is ranked 10th in NCAA Division III in the high jump and 20th in the triple jump.
