Saints Lead 2014 UMAC Football Awards List

ST. PAUL – The 2014 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Football postseason awards were announced on Wednesday with league champion, the College of St. Scholastica, leading the way landing 12 individuals on the All-Conference First Team.

St. Scholastica quarterback Tyler Harper was named UMAC Offensive Player of the Year after leading the league’s top scoring offense this season, averaging 208.8 passing yards per game and throwing for a league best 26 touchdowns in his senior season. Harper’s teammate senior Peter Stanley was named Offensive Lineman of the year while Saints punker/kicker Mike Theismann was selected as Special Teams Player of the Year for the third time in his career after making 55 of 59 point after attempts this season.

Cody Hickman from the University of Minnesota Morris was named UMAC Defensive Player of the Year following a senior season in which he led the conference in tackles averaging 13.2 per game, tallying 118 tackles on the year.

Saints Head Coach Kurt Ramler was selected as UMAC Coach of the Year by his colleagues after leading his team to an undefeated season and UMAC Championship in just his first season at the helm of the program.

The Saints also won the UMAC Football Team Sportsmanship Award, an accolade that is selected by the UMAC coaches to honor the team who best exemplified sportsmanship throughout the entire season. Each team also has one representative on the individual sportsmanship award list:
