St. Scholastica dominates Women's Indoor Track & Field awards
ST. PAUL – After cleaning house in Saturday’s UMAC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championship, the College of St. Scholastica did the same thing in Tuesday’s all-conference awards, taking 15 of the 27 accolades distributed. As a team, the Saints bested their nearest competition by 201 points at the conference championship meet, winning all but two events.
St. Scholastica’s Maggie Blair was named the meet’s top track athlete after winning the 55-meter hurdles, 55-meter dash, 200-meter dash and pole vault events. Her teammate, Alec Seeley, was awarded Field Athlete of the Meet honors after claiming victories in both the weight throw and shot put competitions. Saints head coach Kirk Nauman was voted the women’s indoor coach of the year after his team’s performance.
The University of Minnesota, Morris, who took second on Saturday, had eight all-conference awards, followed by Northwestern College’s three and North Central University’s one.
