The University of Northwestern-St. Paul men's tennis team may have fallen to 20-time UMAC champion College of St. Scholastica Saturday, but the young squad took three of nine matches in the loss and still came up with key victories to end the season with an 8-2 record and the No. 2 seed. Brett Jacobus was a key factor in that success winning five times over the week including a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles against the Saints. The sophomore finished the regular season 9-1 in UMAC singles play and won four-straight to end the season. Jacobus and the Eagles will face No. 3 Bethany Lutheran College in the semifinal of the the UMAC tournament Friday at 8:30 p.m. in Minneapolis.
