The University of Northwestern-St. Paul men's tennis team locked up a spot in the UMAC postseason tournament with two conference wins last week thanks in large part to the solid play of first-year Derek Williams. In the Eagles' two wins over the University of Minnesota Morris, Williams won at No. 3 and 4 singles dropping a total of just four games. The rookie and partner Landon Ridpath also dropped just one game in two victories at the No. 2 doubles position. Williams also scored a three-set singles win in a tough 7-2 non-conference loss to Bethel University. The Eagles will look to wrap up the season with three conference matches this week including a shot at a share of the UMAC title Saturday against the College of St. Scholastica.
