The Bethany Lutheran College softball team saw a first-year star take over in its four-game dome series last week. Rookie Kendra Porath finished the Vikings' stretch 10-of-13 at the plate with five RBI. In the Vikings' 4-3 win over Finlandia University Thursday, Porath was a perfect 4-for-4 and scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the extra eighth inning. The first-year ended the week with a solid .769 average and .923 slugging percentage. She currently leads the UMAC with a .448 batting average and ranks second in on-base percentage (.515). The Vikings return to action Thursday, March 31 for a non-conference doubleheader with Martin Luther College.
