Bethany Lutheran grabbed its first win of the season behind a standout performance from Pipenhagen on the mound. The Vikings defeated Drew University 5-3 to open their spring break trip Sunday. The sophomore pitcher struck out a remarkable 16 batters en route to her first win of the season in seven innings of work. She allowed just two earned runs on seven hits allowed. Earlier in the week, Pipenhagen struck out eight players in the team's loss to Macalester College. Pipenhagen currently leads the UMAC in strikeouts with 27. The Vikings return to action Wednesday for four more games in Fort Myers, Florida.
