The University of Northwestern picked up its 11th-straight Team Academic Award which is the longest active streak by a UMAC school for the award, while the College of St. Scholastica and Martin Luther College were also repeat honorees with the award.

The Team Academic Award was initiated in 1992-93 and honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale. A record 1,128 total programs were recognized this year.

The three UMAC programs are among 175 Division III programs that earned the honor this past academic year. Martin Luther has now won the award 13 times including nine in a row and St. Scholastica has 10 awards with this being the fourth-consecutive honor.
